Fool's Gold | Blackwell Rum Daiquiri

One of the best things to happen in quarantine is the IG battles which such notables like Teddy Riley vs Babyface and Lil Jon vs T-Pain.

Tonight, they paired Jill Scott with one of my all-time favorite artists, Erykah Badu. Woooo…it deserved a cocktail. Fortunately, I had some lime leftover from the mezcal margaritas on Cinco de Mayo and there’s always rum handy. (If you’ve guessed that I love cocktails with lime and sugar, you’re correct.)

Even though I’m a bigger Erykah Badu song, I titled this post after the Jill Scott song because of the color of the cocktail from the Blackwell. it seemed like the perfect title for the occasion. Also, about five years ago, I was working with Blackwell and sponsored event for Bosco who's on the Fool's Gold record label. Recipe for the daiquiri below.

Blackwell Rum Daiquiri

1.5 oz Blackwell Rum
1 oz lime juice
3/4 oz simple syrup
1 drop angostura bitters

1. Add rum, lime juice and simple syrup to shaker.
2. Add ice and shake vigorously.
3. Strain into a coupe glass.
4. Garnish with a lime slice and angostura bitters.
