As I sat in the doctor’s office I had a few moments to think. I realized that I was pretty damn happy with my life and where I was and it really meant a lot to me. It was also great knowing that I had so many people around me that truly cared about me.

I wasn’t nervous. Lie. (There’s a lump on my neck, how can I not be nervous.) However, I was calmer than I expected. After you face so many things in life, you get to the point where you know that you’re doing all that you can do. If you’re at a place where you’re happy and comfortable with yourself, then you’re always prepared to deal with life’s little hiccups.

This doesn’t mean that if I found out that this is something horrible tragic, I won’t be down for a few days, but I know that I’ll get back up and be able to face whatever it is. It’s a good place to be in overall.

The great news is that so far I’m ok. After he checked me out, the doc said I seem perfectly healthy and that the lump was an enlarged lymph node, probably caused from when I was sick weeks ago and hacking my life away. He said he wasn’t concerned (errr, because there isn’t a lump on YOUR neck sir), but he did some blood work to be sure. If those tests come back ok, then I’ll have to wait it out to see if the pesky thing disappears. If not, they’ll have to remove it. Talk about something that excites me none.

Anyway, for now I’m praying and counting my many blessings. Everything is ok in the end, if it’s not ok, it’s not the end.
