My two cents:
1. Yes, if you don’t want to deal with an angry partner and despite the hypocrisy of (too many) men. I’ve know a few people who have done the “open relationship” thing… Turned out that in most cases only 1 of the pair knew it was an open relationship!
2. Yes, but takes a great, mature guy not to resent the hell out of it. I find some guys to be VERY insecure. Woman also has to be confident and sensitive enough to navigate this mindfield which is problematic, but not necessarily a deal-breaker.
3. We could have an entire symposium about this. The relationship has to be strong, with good communication and trust if the relationship is to survive the naysayers. Having dealt with a partners racist/ignorant family members, I find that sometimes you have to say “fuck them” and other times you just have to make peace, sit down and sup with them.

I have no points of reference since I don’t date and guys don’t like me, it seems, as a rule but I think going with the flow and being true to yourself is a good guide. Good luck and have fun.
