Before I settled in Brazil less than a week ago, I was all over the place: DC, New York, Atlanta, Ohio, and Jamaica. The great thing is that I’ve been able to see friends and clients that I’ve been working with for months. Everywhere I went, everyone asked me if I’ve lost weight and after I answered yes, everyone wanted to know how I did it. Well, I got up every day and I worked out and I ate better. Simple enough. Pah! The truth is, it wasn’t easy, but I stuck with it.
Now, when I look in the mirror, I’m reminded that I can accomplish anything if I just work hard at it. It won’t happen overnight, (It’s taken me a little bit over two years to get to the fitness level that I am at now.) but with time and dedication, it’s possible.
I apply this logic with everything that I do and my message to you for the new year: Keep at whatever it is that you’ve set out to do. It might not happen today, but stay focused and eventually you’ll find yourself where you planned on being. Anything is possible with hard work and faith.
Now, I’m off to the beach!

It is like you were reading my mind or something. I so needed that pep talk. I have 2 major issues to tackle and I would like them both to be cleared up this year but I keep putting off the inevitable…getting on them and focusing. Your message is so simple that a light bulb went off in my head. Instead of moping, I just need to get on with it and things will eventually work themselves out.
Good for you on the weight loss and your business. I know how hard it is to lose weight but how EASY it is to gain. Seems that you are doing very well youngin’. Hollah back!
Keep having fun on the beack…and catch a few rays for me.

You can do it! I know it’s easier said than done, but it really is that simple. Just do a little bit each day and before you know it, you will get there.

Sharon, an you advise what type of work out you did? Were you on a specific diet plan or just, as you said, watching what you ate?

I’ve actually been meaning to do a post about this for awhile. I could never stick to a strict diet plan. I starting by counting calories so that I could get a good idea of exactly what correct portion sizes were and which foods were just horrible. Another thing is that I cut out juices and sodas and stuck with water. Too many useless calories in drinks. I also worked out every day in the beginning. I’ll post more details next week.

Hey Sharon. Hope you are having fun.
I have actually lost a bit of weight myself. I was on the south beach diet before germany and did really, really well. prior to that, I was on la weight loss (until it closed in canada and left most of it’s customer, like me, with no refund or compensation). since i got back from germany, i have managed to gain like 18lbs back and i am not impressed. i know what to do but i was just exploring other avenues. i hope to be free from this diet cycle in a few months.
Continue enjoying the sun.

Yeah, I’m not big on dieting. I love food way too much to restrict myself! I think smaller portions and exercise is the best way to do it. Being in Brazil also helps because the food is all fresh.

I lost about 10-15 lbs at the start of last year, but gained back about 5, all around my tummy.
Did it by cutting out all the crap food. People say I look healthier, but my tummy!
Good for you, Shannon!
