I’ve been working on a city guide to Bahia for a few days now and then realized that I haven’t looked at my photos since I’ve been back. So while I finish writing up all that stuff, here’s a small photo essay on Bahia.
Bahians call their state the land of happiness. And why wouldn't they? The sun is always shining, people are always smiling and beer is always flowing.
Wonderful pics. Will you be releasing your city guide here? Probably not but…..thought I would ask. Let me know how I can get a copy.
My fav pic is titled “Cobblestone”. I love the colors and mood. This place reminds me of Cuba for some reason. Rhona´s last blog ..Thinking about Christmas in November
It looks amazing! I’ll have to stop there when I get back to Rio. I’ve heard Salvador is amazing and that I’d love it more than Rio…which would be insane if it turned out to be true because what I love about Rio has nothing to do with the touristy stuff.
I’ll be there in a little bit more than a month…from Dec 28 - Mar 4. These are from when I was there in July.
Salvador is definitely amazing. You have to experience it. I liked Rio, but I would have probably liked it more if I didn’t go to Salvador first. Rio, to me, could be any major city in the world. It’s just incredibly beautiful and so are the people. Salvador has a rhythm that is all its own.
Do you mean to tell me the Brazilians party, as in a mini carnival, EVERY TUESDAY? I love all Brazilians. I like when people party on a schedule. I also like when people party just because. I wonder what it would be like in America if EVERYONE had a weekly party and EVERYONE participated.
Brazilians LOVE to party and I love them for it. The Tuesday thing is only in Bahia, but I’m sure the entire country finds something to celebrate all the time.
Hey Shannon. These are great. You should post a story about your Bahia experience to BlackAtlas.com. You can post a story there just by signing up. Then you can include a link back from their site to yours so more people can be exposed to your travel experiences.
Hey Trevor. Thanks for checking out the blog. Can I tell you that I actually have a draft post about my strong dislike for BlackAtlas.com? You’ll have to tell me what you like about it once I’m done.

Thanks Rhona! I can’t even imagine what Cuba is like. I have to go!
And I’ll post the guide online when I’m all done.
