In addition to the World’s Happiest Cities list that I found last week, I’ve stumbled upon some pretty cool things about travel on the web lately. Here are the ones that really caught my eye:
1. WanderWomen Write Travel Writing Contest: It’s definitely a mouthful to say, but the contest seems worth the trouble. It’s simple enough: All you have to do is write a travel story and submit it by November 30, 2009. (You can actually submit more than one.) The Grand Prize is a 12-day Health and Harmony Tour of Vietnam. Not bad, right? Yeah, I didn’t think so either. I’m going to enter as soon as I can figure out what story to write. While I think about that, you can read the rest of the details here.
2. Ultimate Thailand Explorer: Thailand is offering five couples the chance to win a vacation in the county’s most popular locations. All they have to do is talk about it by blogging, tweeting, and however else people are communicating these days. Gotta love technology. BUT what I don’t love is that this is only open to couples. I’m completely biased when I say that it should have been offered to singles also. *shrugs. Ok, so I actually read the rules and found out that couple simply means a pair of two individuals. I like this contest again.
3. 30 Ways in 30 Days to Redesign Your Life and Travel the World: This blog series is being put together by AlmostFearless.com. She’s on Day 5 as I post this and I’m interested to see what else will come in the next 25 days.
