9/11 Rememberance

I can’t believe that it was 8 years ago. I remember where I was like it was yesterday. I was a freshman in college…in Washington, DC. By the time I heard the news, I could see the smoke coming from the Pentagon from the top floor of my door. It would last for days.

The campus was chaotic. Nobody could receive or make calls until late that night and early the next morning. People were crying, especially those that had family members that worked in the World Trade Center. It was a tough time.

Anytime I’m in an airport now, I think about 9/11. I don’t worry about something happening with my plane. As I kick off my shoes and put them on the sliding belt, I wonder how great travel would be if there was world peace. How nice it would be to roam the world without passports, visas or security checks…

Ironically, if we are ever to get closer to accomplishing world peace, people must travel more. It’s important to see how people live and accept people for who they are across the world.
